Triple Crown of Women’s Fitness ESPN 1996 LifeQuest
Produced by Wayne and Rally Caparas (Caparas Media) for espn’s American Muscle Magazine, the American Sports Network and Lou Zwick. Hosted by Kimiko Tanaka. Oxygen Magazine named listed the event among it’s “TOP 100 Milestones in the History of Women in Sports”. Kelly Ryan, Lori Anne Lloyd, Shannon Metereaud, Brandy Hale, and Julie Ross were the biggest winners. This was the event that gave Brandy Hale Flores her first international exposure, and it was Kelly Ryan’s first victory. Other notable women featured in the event include: Elisa Martin, Renita Harris, Toni Bolla, and 70 of the top fitness athletes of the era. The Triple Crown was held in Charleston, SC. The obstacle course was constructed in Marion Square and the indoor events were held at Gaillard Municipal Auditorium.
